A majority of the homes for sale in this area are located in areas that are reasonably convenient for those who travel by foot; most daily needs are easy to meet without the use of a vehicle, and various businesses are nearby. Despite the fact that a few enjoyable sectors for cycling exist, and biking is common, Westview is not especially bicycling-friendly because riding is made difficult by the often steep terrain, and the cycling network is not particularly comprehensive. The public transit system in this neighbourhood is not very practical. Nonetheless, the neighbourhood is linked by a few bus lines, and it is very easy to reach a nearby bus stop from most properties. In contrast, Westview is very car friendly. It is easy to park, and many real estate listings are a very short drive from the nearest highway, such as Trans-Canada Highway.

With regards to eating, it is very often an option for home buyers in this neighbourhood to purchase general and specialty groceries on foot. Moreover, Westview is a fairly good place in which to go out to eat or go to a cafe.

Home buyers who prefer a relaxed environment will enjoy Westview. It is very easy to access green spaces since there are a few of them close by for residents to unwind in. This area is also quiet, as there isn't a lot of street noise or city clamour - although that is not the case around Trans-Canada Highway.

In Westview, around 30% of dwellings are small apartment buildings, but duplexes and single detached homes are also present in the housing stock.
