The neighbourhood of Lake City can be found in the city of Burnaby, British Columbia, which is situated in the Metro Vancouver metropolitan area.

Transportation

Cars are an excellent transportation option in Lake City. It is very convenient to park. However, the public transit network in Lake City is not particularly accessible. Thankfully, residents benefit from Production Way-University Station @ Platform 1 and Production Way-University Station @ Platform 2 on the Expo Line and Millennium Line. There are a few bus lines crossing the neighbourhood, and bus stops are generally nearby. Physically active property owners will appreciate the quite bicycling-friendly nature of Lake City. In particular, the cycling network is comprehensive. It is impractical for pedestrians to move around in this neighbourhood as meeting daily needs is challenging.

Services

It is a rather short walk to reach primary schools and daycares from anywhere in this part of Burnaby. In contrast, Lake City does not contain any high schools. As far as eating is concerned, some, but not all, home buyers in this neighbourhood will live within walking distance of the closest grocery store. There are also a few choices for those who appreciate nearby restaurants and cafes.

Character

The character of Lake City is exemplified by its relaxed atmosphere. There are about 10 public green spaces nearby for residents to discover, such as Forest Grove Park and Burnaby 200 Conservation Area, and they are very well-spread out, making it very easy to get to them. This part of Burnaby is very quiet overall, as there isn't a lot of street noise or city clamour.

Housing

In Lake City, a small minority of buildings are single detached homes, and the rest of the houses are mainly large apartment buildings. A majority of the housing growth in this neighbourhood occurred in the 1980s. This area is primarily composed of four or more bedroom and three bedroom homes. About 55% of the population of this neighbourhood own their home and 45% are renters.
