Legacy

Legacy is a neighbourhood within Calgary, Alberta, which is located in the Greater Calgary metropolitan area.

Transportation

Legacy is especially car friendly. Parking is generally easy, and most real estate listings are a reasonably short drive from the closest highway. In contrast, Legacy is not very transit friendly. Nevertheless, there are approximately 10 bus lines crossing the neighbourhood, and bus stops are usually nearby. Walking is not very feasible for home buyers in Legacy since running common errands is impractical. In contrast, biking is easy in this part of Calgary as there are not many slopes to confront bicycle riders, and Legacy has a reasonably good bicycling infrastructure.

Services

A car is almost always required in this part of the city to reach the closest supermarket. Residents of Legacy can enjoy a few restaurants as well. With regards to education, families will find that wherever their property is situated in this neighbourhood, secondary schools are nearby. On the other hand, there are no primary schools in this part of the city.

Character

Legacy is a very good neighbourhood to buy a house in for those who prefer a relaxed atmosphere. There are a few parks close by for residents to unwind in and they are very well-situated, which makes them easy to get to. Most areas in this neighbourhood are very quiet, as there are generally low levels of noise from traffic.

Housing

The majority of the housing stock of Legacy consists of small apartment buildings and single detached homes, and the rest of the properties are mainly townhouses. Most housing in this area was built following the year 2000, during its biggest construction boom. This area offers mainly two bedroom and three bedroom homes. About three quarters of the population of this neighbourhood own their home and one quarter are renters.
