Brighton

Part of the Greater Saskatoon metropolitan area, Brighton is a neighbourhood within Saskatoon, Saskatchewan.

Transportation

Brighton is very car friendly. It is especially convenient to access a place to park, and nearby highways are very easy to reach from any home in this neighbourhood. On the other hand, the public transit service in this neighbourhood is quite bad. Getting around by bicycle is occasionally challenging in Brighton as the cycling infrastructure is rather limited. Thankfully, bike riders do not encounter serious slopes, and riding a bike is better in certain pockets than others. Travelling on foot is also not very practical for house buyers in Brighton as many daily needs are occasionally challenging to carry out by walking.

Services

Families will appreciate that wherever their home is located in Brighton, daycares are nearby. However, there are no primary schools and no high schools in this neighbourhood. Regarding eating, the closest grocery store in Brighton is usually only an extended walk away. Residents are served by a few restaurants and coffee shops as well.

Character

Brighton offers a broad selection of green spaces to enjoy. Although the neighbourhood is not home to any green spaces, parks are especially well-situated in nearby neighbourhoods, which results in them being easy to reach from the majority of locations within Brighton. Finally, this part of Saskatoon is relatively quiet, since there are very few people out and about on the streets.

Housing

The predominant housing types in Brighton are single detached homes and townhouses. This area offers mainly four or more bedroom and three bedroom homes. Around 85% of the properties in the neighbourhood are occupied by homeowners and 15% are rented. Most of the housing growth in this part of the city has occurred following the year 2000.
