Jonquière

Situated within the Greater Saguenay metropolitan area, Jonquière is a borough in Saguenay, Quebec.

Transportation

This borough is an extraordinarily good part of Saguenay for moving around by car. Nearby highways, such as Autoroute 70, are very easy to drive to from anywhere in Jonquière, and it is very convenient to park. In contrast, commuting by transit can be challenging in this part of the city as a result of the service's low frequency. Nevertheless, there are approximately 20 bus lines, and most houses are very close to a bus stop. Biking is at times challenging in Jonquière as there are a good number of slopes, and the cycling infrastructure is not especially extensive. Jonquière is also not particularly well-suited for walking because few daily errands can be run on foot.

Services

Some, but not all, property owners in Jonquière will live within walking distance of one of about 10 supermarkets. Residents of Jonquière are served by over 50 restaurants as well. In terms of education, families will find that no matter where their property is situated in this part of the city, primary schools and daycares are nearby. However, there are only a few high schools and consequently they can be a rather long walk away.

Character

Jonquière is a very good borough to buy a house in for those who prefer a calm ambience. Jonquière is very quiet overall, as noise from streets and other parts of the city is rarely an issue.
