The neighbourhood of Notre-Dame-des-Laurentides is part of the city of Québec, Quebec, which is located in the Greater Québec City metropolitan area.

Transportation

Moving around by car is very convenient in Notre-Dame-des-Laurentides. It is very convenient to park, and the majority of properties for sale are a short drive from the nearest highway, such as Autoroute Laurentienne. However, the public transit network in Notre-Dame-des-Laurentides is not very accessible. Thankfully, property owners have access to about 10 bus lines, and the closest bus stop is usually just around the corner. Notre-Dame-des-Laurentides is reasonably suited for biking. Walking is not very practical for house buyers in this part of Québec since very few common errands can be run on foot.

Services

It is a rather short walk to get to primary schools and daycares from any location in Notre-Dame-des-Laurentides. In contrast, there are only a very small number of high schools and therefore they can be a very long walk away. Concerning food, getting to the nearest grocery store on foot is practical for some, but not all, property owners in Notre-Dame-des-Laurentides. A limited number of restaurants are available in this neighbourhood as well.

Character

People who prefer a calm environment will enjoy Notre-Dame-des-Laurentides. The noise levels in this area are very low, as the streets are very calm - although that is not the case near Autoroute Laurentienne. Lastly, it is easy to reach green spaces in the neighbourhood, since there are a few of them close by for residents to unwind in, including Parc Linéaire de la Rivière-des-Roches and Parc du Bon-Pasteur.

Housing

The homes in this neighbourhood are quite new, because around 40% of its dwellings were built after the year 2000, while many of the remaining buildings were built pre-1960 and in the 1960s. In this part of Québec, roughly 55% of buildings are single detached homes, but small apartment buildings and townhouses are also present in the housing stock. Around 80% of the units in the neighbourhood are occupied by homeowners and 20% are rented. This area is primarily composed of two bedroom and three bedroom homes.
