Located in the Greater Montreal metropolitan area, Snowdon is a neighbourhood within Montréal, Quebec.

Transportation

This part of the city affords homeowners several alternative modes of transportation. Thanks to many nearby rapid transit stations on the Ligne 2 - Orange and Ligne 5 - Bleue, and about 10 nearby bus lines, this neighbourhood features a very good public transit system. Snowdon is also a very convenient part of Montréal for pedestrians; most daily needs are very easy to carry out on foot, and a fair number of businesses of different types can be found as well. The bicycle is a good mode of transportation in Snowdon.

Services

In Snowdon, parents and their kids will almost always be able to get to schools and daycares by walking. Besides public schools, there are private elementary and high schools. With respect to eating, a general and a specialty grocery store is always only a short walk away in Snowdon. There are approximately 20 supermarkets in this area, and the best variety can be found on streets such as Avenue Victoria. Moreover, there is often a restaurant or cafe just around the corner, for instance along Chemin Queen-Mary.

Character

The character of Snowdon is exemplified by its slower-paced environment. Greenery is reasonably present in this neighbourhood as many tree-lined streets are prominent. It is easy to get to parks from a lot of locations in the neighbourhood since there are approximately 10 of them nearby for residents to unwind in. This area is reasonably quiet overall, as there are low levels of noise from traffic - although there are still several louder sections, especially near Autoroute Décarie or the railway line.

Housing
