of 0

Halpern

The neighbourhood of Halpern can be found in the city of Montréal, Quebec, which is located in the Greater Montreal metropolitan area.

Transportation

Cars are a great transportation option in Halpern. The majority of houses for sale are a very short drive from the closest highway, such as Autoroute Félix-Leclerc, and it is very easy to find a place to park. However, commuting by transit can be at times challenging in Halpern by reason of the low service level. Nevertheless, there are a few bus lines traversing the neighbourhood, and bus stops are usually nearby. Despite the fact that bicycling is more practical in some areas than others, and there are not many elevation changes to confront cyclists, Halpern is not especially amenable to cycling since there are few bike lanes. It is also challenging for pedestrians to get around in Halpern since running common errands is inconvenient.

Services

Purchasing one's groceries usually necessitates the use of a vehicle in Halpern. That being said, a cafe is commonly just around the corner, and there are a few choices for those who care about restaurants within walking distance. Regarding education, it is a rather short walk to reach daycares from most homes for sale in Halpern. However, this part of the city does not contain any primary schools or high schools.

Character

Halpern offers a wide variety of green spaces to enjoy. To be more precise, although the neighbourhood does not contain any parks, public green spaces are very well-spread out in nearby neighbourhoods, which makes it easy to get to them. However, the tree canopy coverage for the majority of streets is fairly bad. This part of the city can be rather noisy, as traffic during busier hours of the day can occasionally be loud.

Housing

Around one third of properties in Halpern were built following the year 2000, while the majority of the remaining buildings were constructed in the 1960s and the 1980s. Single detached homes are the predominant housing type, representing around 40% of buildings in this part of the city, while townhouses are also present in the housing stock. Homeowners occupy roughly 90% of the properties in the neighbourhood whereas the rest are rented. This part of Montréal offers mainly four or more bedroom and three bedroom homes.
