Pointe Théoret

Part of the Greater Montreal metropolitan area, Pointe Théoret is a neighbourhood within Montréal, Quebec.

Transportation

Pointe Théoret is an extraordinarily convenient part of Montréal for driving. Parking is quite easy. The bicycle is a sometimes poor means of transportation in this part of the city as there are very few bike lanes, and the terrain is not particularly flat. It is also very impractical for pedestrians to get around in Pointe Théoret as common amenities such as post offices or laundromats can be an extended walk away.

Services

Pointe Théoret does not contain any high schools or primary schools. Moreover, daycares are not abundant and thus not always within walking distance. With respect to food, in all but a very small number of cases, a car is needed to do groceries.

Character

The character of Pointe Théoret is exemplified by its calm environment. There is a very large amount of greenery in this part of the city as a large number of tree-lined streets are present. Although the neighbourhood is not home to any parks, public green spaces are especially well-spread out in nearby neighbourhoods, resulting in them being easy to reach from most locations within Pointe Théoret. This part of Montréal is also very quiet, as there isn't a lot of street noise or city clamour.

Housing

The large proportion of single detached homes in the housing stock of Pointe Théoret is an important part of its character. This area experienced its biggest construction boom between 1960 and 1980, so most of the available homes are from this era. This part of the city is primarily composed of four or more bedroom and three bedroom homes. About 80% of the units in the neighbourhood are occupied by homeowners whereas renters occupy the remainder.
