Transportation

Owing to a multitude of nearby rapid transit stations on the Ligne 5 - Bleue and Ligne 2 - Orange, and around 20 nearby bus lines, the public transit service in Jarry Park is excellent. This neighbourhood is also an extremely convenient part of Montréal for pedestrians; all common errands can be run on foot, and there are also a fair number of businesses in proximity. Bicycling is very prevalent in Jarry Park since this area features a reasonably good bicycling infrastructure, and there are a limited number of elevation changes.

Services

It is very convenient to access both a general and a specialty grocery store on foot from anywhere in this part of Montréal. There are about 20 supermarkets in Jarry Park, and the best selection can be found on streets like Rue De Castelnau. In addition, there is generally a restaurant or cafe in close proximity. When it comes to education, daycares and schools are especially easy to access on foot from most homes for sale in this part of the city.

Character

Jarry Park is a "jack-of-all-trades" when it comes to the feel of this part of Montréal. Finding bustling places in this part of Montréal is very easy. Even though there is a limited selection of entertainment venues, there are very often a very large number of people around, and places to go out at night are well-distributed throughout the neighbourhood. Jarry Park is reasonably quiet overall, as the streets are generally calm, however noise can be problematic closer to Autoroute Métropolitaine or the railway line. Greenery is present in this part of Montréal as many streets have reasonably good tree coverage. Public green spaces, such as Parc Jarry, are especially well-distributed and there are approximately 10 of them nearby for residents to discover, resulting in them being very easy to get to from numerous locations within the neighbourhood.

Housing

Most buildings are small apartment buildings, making it easy to find apartments in Jarry Park, but duplexes are also present in the housing stock. This part of Montréal is primarily composed of two bedroom and one bedroom homes. About two thirds of the population of this neighbourhood rent their home while the rest are owners. A majority of the housing growth in this neighbourhood took place prior to the 1960s.
