Part of the Ottawa - Gatineau metropolitan area, Hautes-Plaines is an urban village within Gatineau, Quebec.

Transportation

Hautes-Plaines is very car friendly. It is very easy to park, and the majority of real estate listings are a very short car ride from the nearest highway, such as Autoroute de la Gatineau. However, the public transit system in Hautes-Plaines is not very accessible. Nonetheless, the urban village is linked by approximately 10 bus lines, and bus stops are not very far away from most houses. This urban village is quite bicycling-friendly because the cycling network is fairly good. This part of Gatineau is not very conducive to those who travel by foot as very few day-to-day needs can be met without the use of a car.
