University

Part of the Greater Windsor metropolitan area, University is a neighbourhood within Windsor, Ontario.

Transportation

Physically active people will be pleased with the pedestrian-friendly nature of University; many common errands can be run without needing to resort to a vehicle. Bicycling is reasonably prevalent in this neighbourhood because it is an even ride to most locations, and there are a fair number of bike lanes. Driving is usually the favoured approach to move around in University. Most real estate listings are a reasonably short car ride from the nearest highway, and it is convenient to find a place to park. On the other hand, the public transit service in this part of Windsor is not very frequent. Nonetheless, there are a few bus lines traversing the neighbourhood, and most homes are very close to a bus stop.

Services

It is very often an option for property owners in this part of the city to buy their groceries on foot. Furthermore, a restaurant is often just around the corner, and there are also a few coffee shops in University. As far as education is concerned, both primary and secondary schools are very easy to access on foot from any location in University. Residents can choose between public and private schools at both the primary and high school level. In contrast, families may find it difficult to reach daycares as a pedestrian.

Character

The character of University is exemplified by its slower-paced atmosphere. This area is quiet, as there tend to be low levels of noise from traffic. Finally, there are approximately 20 parks close by for residents to enjoy, such as Assumption and Centennial, and they are very well-distributed, which makes it easy to access them from a large number of locations within the neighbourhood.
