Riverside is a neighbourhood within Windsor, Ontario, which is located in the Greater Windsor metropolitan area.

Transportation

Driving is a reasonably good means of transportation in this neighbourhood. It is convenient to come across a place to park. On the other hand, Riverside is not very transit friendly. Thankfully, there are a few bus lines crossing the neighbourhood, and most residences are very close to a bus stop. Travelling by foot is not very popular in this area, although many daily needs can be met by walking. However, the bicycle is a reasonably good means of transportation in this part of Windsor as cyclists do not face serious slopes.

Services

Families will welcome that wherever their home is situated in Riverside, daycares and schools are nearby. Residents can choose between public and private schools at both the primary and high school level. Concerning food, some, but not all, home buyers in this neighbourhood will live within walking distance of the closest grocery store. There are also around 30 restaurants and cafes in Riverside.

Character

Riverside is a very good neighbourhood to buy a house in for those who prefer a slower-paced environment. This part of the city is very quiet overall, as there are generally low levels of noise from traffic. Lastly, there are about 20 parks nearby for residents to enjoy, such as Wfcu and Tranby, which results in them being very easy to get to from the majority of locations within the neighbourhood.

Housing

Single detached homes are the predominant housing type, representing most dwellings in Riverside, and the rest of the dwellings are mainly large apartment buildings. Around 40% of properties in this part of the city were constructed between 1960 and 1980, while many of the remaining buildings were built pre-1960. This neighbourhood is primarily composed of two bedroom and three bedroom homes. Roughly two thirds of the units in the neighbourhood are occupied by homeowners and the remainder are rented.
