Forest Glade is a neighbourhood within Windsor, Ontario, which is situated in the Greater Windsor metropolitan area.

Transportation

Forest Glade is especially car friendly. It is convenient to find a place to park, and nearby highways, such as E C Row Expressway, are quite easy to reach from anywhere in Forest Glade. However, the public transit service in this part of the city is rather poor. Thankfully, the neighbourhood is served by a few bus lines, and most residences are very close to a bus stop. Travelling by foot in this area is not very common, although many daily errands can be run without needing to use a vehicle. On the other hand, the bike is a reasonably good method of transportation in Forest Glade because there are a limited number of elevation changes.

Services

It is usually an option for home buyers in Forest Glade to shop for their groceries by walking. A small selection of restaurants and coffee shops is available as well. With respect to education, daycares and primary schools are very easy to walk to from anywhere in Forest Glade. On the other hand, this part of the city does not contain any high schools.

Character

The character of Forest Glade is exemplified by its slower-paced atmosphere. Public green spaces, such as Derwent and Twin Oaks, are very well-spread out and there are about 10 of them close by for residents to visit, which makes it easy to get to them. This area is very quiet overall, as the streets are very peaceful near one of the railway lines or E C Row Expressway.

Around two thirds of the dwellings in the neighbourhood are occupied by homeowners whereas the remainder are rented. In this part of the city, around 45% of buildings are single detached homes, while small apartment buildings and townhouses make up most of the remaining housing stock. Most of the housing growth in this area happened between 1960 and 1980. This neighbourhood is primarily composed of four or more bedroom and three bedroom homes.
