Devonshire

The neighbourhood of Devonshire can be found in the city of Windsor, Ontario, which is situated in the Greater Windsor metropolitan area.

Transportation

Cars are a great means of transportation in this neighbourhood. It is very easy to find a place to park, and the majority of real estate listings are a rather short car ride from the closest highway, such as E C Row Expressway. In contrast, public transit riders may have few choices in Devonshire as a result of the low service level. Nevertheless, the neighbourhood is linked by a few bus lines, and it is very convenient to find a nearby bus stop from most properties. There are relatively few pedestrians out on the streets of Devonshire, even though many daily errands can be run without the use of a vehicle. On the other hand, the bike is a reasonably good method of transportation in Devonshire because bicycling is made easier by the generally flat terrain.

Services

It is a reasonably short walk to access primary schools and daycares from anywhere in Devonshire. However, it can be difficult to get to high schools as a pedestrian. Concerning food, accessing the nearest supermarket on foot is feasible for some, but not all, home buyers in Devonshire. There are also a limited number of choices for those who care about restaurants and cafes in close proximity.

Character

A highlight of Devonshire is its wide selection of green spaces. Parks, such as Captain Wilson and Devonwood Conservation Area, are very well-spread out and there are around 10 of them nearby for residents to unwind in, which makes it very easy to reach them. Lastly, this neighbourhood is relatively quiet, thanks to the presence of few pedestrians; however there can be more noise for those who are near the railway line or E C Row Expressway.

Housing

Single detached homes are the most common housing type, representing the vast majority of dwellings in Devonshire, and the rest of the homes are mainly townhouses. This part of the city is primarily composed of four or more bedroom and three bedroom homes. Homeowners occupy roughly 85% of the units in Devonshire while the rest are rented. The homes in this part of Windsor are relatively new, since around 30% of its dwellings were constructed between 1990 and 2000, while many of the remaining buildings were built pre-1960 and in the 1960s.
