Transportation

Yorkdale is also a fairly pleasant part of Toronto for pedestrians; running common errands is easy, and a good number of businesses of different types can be found as well. Although the area is quite flat, and some pleasant areas for bicycling exist, this neighbourhood is not especially conducive to cycling since the cycling infrastructure is fairly poor.

Moreover, there is commonly a restaurant or cafe just around the corner. Regarding education, daycares and schools are very easy to access on foot from most houses for sale in this neighbourhood.

Character

There are a lot of green spaces to enjoy in Yorkdale, despite its sometimes busy ambience. To be more precise, green spaces, such as Caledonia Park, are especially well-spread out and there are a few of them close by for residents to discover, making it very easy to get to them. At the same time, there are few tree-lined streets. Lastly, this part of Toronto is an excellent area for those who don't mind a bit of noise, as traffic can occasionally be loud during busier hours of the day.

Housing

The proportions of renters and homeowners are about even. In this neighbourhood, around 30% of buildings are large apartment buildings, while single detached homes make up most of the remaining housing stock. This area experienced its largest construction boom following the year 2000, so most of the available properties are from this time period. This part of the city is primarily composed of two bedroom and one bedroom homes.
