Transportation

Henry Farm presents homeowners with the choice between several modes of transportation. It is convenient for pedestrians to navigate this neighbourhood; many common errands can be run without needing to resort to a vehicle, and plenty of businesses are reasonably close by. Although some enjoyable areas for cycling can be found, it is challenging to travel by bike in Henry Farm since riding a bicycle is made difficult by the often sloping topography, and there are few bike lanes. With 3 rapid transit stations (Don Mills Station - Subway Platform, Leslie Station - Eastbound Platform and Don Mills Station - Westbound Platform) on the Line 4 (Sheppard), and about 10 nearby bus lines, this part of the city is reasonably transit friendly. Cars are also a very good means of transportation in Henry Farm. Most real estate listings are a very short drive from the nearest highway, such as Highway 404, and most of the street network is well suited for cars.

Services

Schools and daycares are very easy to get to on foot from anywhere in this area. Residents can choose between public and private primary schools. Regarding food, it is usually practical for house buyers in this part of Toronto to shop for groceries by walking. Moreover, there is commonly a restaurant or cafe just around the corner.

Character

Henry Farm offers an extensive selection of green spaces to enjoy, despite its sometimes busy ambience. More specifically, green spaces, including East Don Parkland and Havenbrook Park, are especially well-spread out and there are a few of them nearby for residents to visit, making them very easy to access. This neighbourhood has many areas that are very calm and quiet, although other spots can be noisy, especially near Highway 401 or Highway 404.

Housing

About 60% of the population of this neighbourhood rent their home while owners make up the remainder. The sizeable proportion of large apartment buildings in the housing stock of this area is an important part of its character. A majority of the housing growth in this neighbourhood has happened after the year 2000. This area offers mainly two bedroom and one bedroom homes.
