Transportation

This part of the city permits house buyers to get around by a variety of means of transportation. Thanks to Eglinton on the Lakeshore East, and a few nearby bus lines, Cliffcrest is reasonably transit friendly. Active property owners will also be pleased with the quite pedestrian-friendly character of Cliffcrest; running daily errands is easy on foot. It is convenient to get around by bicycle in this area.

Services

Getting to the closest grocery store on foot is feasible for some, but not all, home buyers in this neighbourhood. That being said, Cliffcrest is a fairly good place in which to go out to eat, and a limited variety of cafes can be found as well. Regarding education, it is a rather short walk to reach daycares and schools from anywhere in this part of Toronto.

Character

The character of Cliffcrest is exemplified by its relaxed environment. This neighbourhood features a fair amount of greenery as there are numerous tree-lined streets. A large number of locations in the neighbourhood have good access to public green spaces, including Resthaven Memorial Gardens and Bluffer's Park, since there are about 30 of them nearby for residents to visit. This part of Toronto is also quiet, as there isn't a lot of street noise or city clamour - although there are still several louder areas, especially closer to the railway line.

Housing

Single detached homes are the predominant housing type, representing the majority of dwellings in Cliffcrest, while large apartment buildings make up most of the remaining housing stock. This neighbourhood also has a good variety of housing sizes; it is quite easy to find properties ranging from lofts to four or more bedrooms. Around two thirds of the population of this neighbourhood own their home and renters make up the remainder. About 45% of properties in this neighbourhood were built pre-1960, while most of the remaining buildings were built in the 1960s and the 2000s.
