Transportation

Cars are an excellent mode of transportation in Glendale. It is especially convenient to access a place to park, and nearby highways, such as Highway 405, are easy to reach from any location in this part of the town. On the other hand, the public transit network in Glendale is not very accessible. Thankfully, house owners benefit from a few bus lines. It is challenging for pedestrians to navigate Glendale as very few day-to-day errands can be run without the use of a vehicle. The bicycle is a sometimes poor method of transportation in this part of the town since the cycling infrastructure is rather limited, and there are a good number of elevation changes.

Concerning food, purchasing one's groceries very often requires the use of a vehicle in this neighbourhood. Residents of Glendale are served by a few restaurants as well.

Character

The character of Glendale is exemplified by its slower-paced environment. Glendale is good for those who need quiet surroundings, as there isn't a lot of street noise or city clamour - although that is not the case close to Highway 405, Queen Elizabeth Way or the airport (St. Catharines/Niagara District Airport).

Housing

In Glendale, many dwellings are single detached homes, while townhouses are also present in the housing stock. A majority of the housing growth in this part of the town has taken place after the year 2000. This neighbourhood offers mainly three bedroom and four or more bedroom homes. Homeowners occupy about 80% of the units in Glendale and 20% are occupied by renters.
