Otonabee

The neighbourhood of Otonabee is part of the city of Peterborough, Ontario, which is situated in the Greater Peterborough metropolitan area.

Transportation

Otonabee is an extraordinarily good part of Peterborough for getting around by car. Nearby highways, such as Highway 7 & 115, are very easy to reach from anywhere in Otonabee, and parking is quite easy. On the other hand, commuting by transit can be challenging in Otonabee by reason of the low service level. Thankfully, the neighbourhood is linked by a few bus lines, and it is very convenient to get to a nearby bus stop from most homes. Travelling by bicycle is occasionally difficult in Otonabee as the terrain is not particularly flat, and there are few bike lanes. Most homes for sale in this part of Peterborough are located in places that are also not very suitable for walking as few daily errands can be run without needing to use a vehicle.

Services

Parents and their kids will find that no matter where their home is located in Otonabee, primary schools and daycares are close by. However, Otonabee does not have any high schools. Regarding eating, in most, if not all, cases, a car is needed to shop for groceries. Nonetheless, getting to the nearest pharmacy and consequently some basic food items is generally convenient. This part of the city offers mainly four or more bedroom and three bedroom homes. Homeowners occupy about three quarters of the properties in Otonabee whereas renters occupy the remainder. About half of homes in this part of the city were constructed in the 1960s and 1970s, while many of the remaining buildings were built pre-1960 and in the 1980s.
