Situated in the Greater Oshawa metropolitan area, O'Neill is a neighbourhood within Oshawa, Ontario.

Transportation

O'Neill is a fairly convenient part of Oshawa for pedestrians; many daily errands can be run without the use of a vehicle, and plenty of businesses are quite close by. Biking is also easy in O'Neill since this area has a fairly good bicycling infrastructure. The car is often the preferred method to navigate this neighbourhood. It is convenient to park, and it is a rather short drive to the closest highway from any location in this area. However, the public transit system in this part of Oshawa is not especially practical. Nonetheless, the neighbourhood is connected by around 10 bus lines, and bus stops are not very far-removed from most homes.

Services

Schools and daycares are straightforward to get to on foot from most properties for sale in O'Neill. At the elementary level, there are both public and private schools. Regarding food, house buyers in O'Neill will be pleased to learn that a grocery store is always only a short walk away. Furthermore, those who like to eat in restaurants will have a fair number of choices, for example on Simcoe Street, and a small variety of cafes is available as well.

Character

O'Neill offers a great variety of green spaces to enjoy, as well as some areas with a vibrant atmosphere. This part of the city has a good selection of unit sizes, ranging from lofts to four or more bedrooms. Homeowners occupy roughly 55% of the units in O'Neill whereas the remainder are rented. Most of the houses available in the housing market in this neighbourhood were constructed before the 1960s, when a large proportion of the housing growth occurred.
