Part of the Norfolk metropolitan area, Walsh is a community within Norfolk County, Ontario.

Transportation

Walsh is very car friendly. It is very easy to find a place to park. In contrast, the public transit system in Walsh is rather poor. Nonetheless, the community is linked by a few bus lines, and bus stops are not very far from most homes. This part of Norfolk County is not very conducive to biking as the cycling infrastructure is not very comprehensive, and there are a good number of hills. It is also very inconvenient for people travelling on foot to move around in Walsh since almost no daily needs can be met by walking.

Services

In all but a very small number of cases, a car is needed in this area to access the nearest grocery store. As far as education is concerned, primary schools are very convenient to get to on foot from any location in Walsh. However, this community does not contain any high schools.

Character

Walsh is a fairly good community to buy a house in for those who prefer a slower-paced ambience. Most areas in Walsh are reasonably quiet, as noise from the streets and other parts of the city is rarely an issue.

Housing

The large percentage of single detached homes in the housing stock of Walsh is an important part of its character. This area is primarily composed of three bedroom and four or more bedroom homes. Homeowners occupy nearly all of the units in Walsh whereas the rest are rented. A small minority of properties in this area were built prior to the 1960s.
