Meadowvale

The neighbourhood of Meadowvale is part of the city of Mississauga, Ontario, which is situated in the Greater Toronto Area metropolitan area.

Transportation

Meadowvale is reasonably amenable to biking because bicycle riders do not face serious slopes, and the cycling network is good. Meadowvale will also draw physically active people as it is suitable for those who travel by foot; most daily needs are easy to meet without the use of a vehicle. The public transit service in this part of Mississauga is somewhat poor. Thankfully, it is convenient to reach a nearby rapid transit station, such as Winston Churchill Blvd / Battleford Rd, Meadowvale Town Centre Drop Off and Winston Churchill Blvd / Britannia Rd on the Meadowvale Express, from the majority of properties in the neighbourhood. There are approximately 10 bus lines crossing the neighbourhood, and bus stops are not very far away from most homes. On the other hand, driving is often the favoured means of transportation in Meadowvale. Many properties for sale are a rather short car ride from the nearest highway, and it is easy to access a place to park.

Services

Parents and their children will find that wherever their house is situated in Meadowvale, schools and daycares are nearby. Families are served by public and private schools at both the primary and high school level. As far as food is concerned, property owners in Meadowvale will welcome that a grocery store is always only a reasonably short walk away. There are also a limited number of options for those who value restaurants and cafes in close proximity.

Character

Meadowvale is a very good neighbourhood to buy a home in for those who prefer a relaxed environment. The noise levels in this part of the city are very low, as the streets are very peaceful. Finally, there are over 50 parks nearby for residents to explore, like Windrush Woods and Lake Wabukayne, and they are very well-located, which makes them very easy to access.

Housing

Single detached homes are the most common housing type, representing about 40% of dwellings in Meadowvale, and the remaining dwellings are mainly large apartment buildings, small apartment buildings, and townhouses. Around half of properties in this part of the city were constructed in the 1960s and 1970s, while most of the remaining buildings were built in the 1980s and the 1990s. This area is primarily composed of four or more bedroom and three bedroom homes. Roughly three quarters of the dwellings in the neighbourhood are occupied by homeowners while the rest are rented.
