Part of the Greater Toronto Area metropolitan area, Gateway is a neighbourhood within Mississauga, Ontario.

Transportation

Gateway will appeal to home buyers that use a diversity of modes of transportation. Owing to about 10 nearby bus lines, Gateway is quite transit friendly. However, travelling by foot is not very popular in this part of Mississauga, even though many daily errands can be run without the use of a vehicle. Travelling by bicycle is easy in Gateway. Driving is usually the best way to navigate this area. It is very easy to access a place to park, and most homes for sale are a short car ride from the nearest highway, such as Highway 407.

Services

The closest grocery store in Gateway is generally only a rather short walk away. Likewise, a restaurant is commonly just around the corner, and a limited selection of cafes is available as well. With respect to education, it is a reasonably short walk to get to daycares and high schools from any location in Gateway. However, it can be challenging to get to primary schools on foot. Parents have the choice between public and private high schools.

Character

There are a lot of green spaces to enjoy in Gateway. Getting to parks from the majority of locations in the neighbourhood, such as Not Yet Named *(Between Avebury and Falbourne and Dunton Athletic Fields, is easy since there are around 10 of them nearby for residents to discover. Finally, it is relatively quiet in this part of the city, as there are very few pedestrians.

Housing

In Gateway, about 45% of buildings are single detached homes, and the remaining homes are mainly townhouses. There is a higher proportion of four or more bedroom homes in this neighbourhood. Roughly 85% of the dwellings in the neighbourhood are occupied by homeowners whereas the remainder are rented. The homes in this area are very modern, because about half of its dwellings were constructed following the year 2000, while most of the remaining buildings were constructed in the 1990s.
