Unionville is not very transit friendly. Nevertheless, rapid transit stations, such as Highway 7 / Warden Av, Highway 7 / Kennedy Rd and Hwy 7 / Town Centre on the Viva Purple, are not very far-removed from the bulk of homes in the neighbourhood. Residents can depend on the Unionville with access to the Stouffville. Homeowners are served by around 10 bus lines, and the closest bus stop is typically very close. In contrast, Unionville is very car friendly. It is a rather short drive to the closest highway, such as Highway 407, from any location in this part of the city, and it is convenient to park.

In terms of food, some, but not all, house buyers in this area will reside within walking distance of the closest grocery store. However, a restaurant is often just around the corner, and a small number of cafes can be found as well.

Housing

Homeowners occupy about three quarters of the properties in the neighbourhood and the rest are rented. In this part of the city, about half of buildings are single detached homes, while large apartment buildings are the main alternative in the housing stock. The homes in this area are relatively new, because roughly 40% of its dwellings were constructed after the year 2000, while many of the remaining buildings were built in the 1960s and the 1980s. This part of Markham is primarily composed of one bedroom and four or more bedroom homes.
