Milliken Mills is a community within Markham, Ontario, which is situated in the Greater Toronto Area metropolitan area.

Transportation

Milliken Mills will draw physically active people because it is reasonably conducive to those who travel by foot; many common errands can be run without needing to resort to a vehicle. Bicycling is also easy in Milliken Mills since cyclists do not face serious hills. Commuting by car is convenient in this area. It is easy to park, and the majority of real estate listings are a reasonably short drive from the closest highway, such as Highway 404. In contrast, travelling by public transit is at times challenging in Milliken Mills. Nonetheless, there are about 20 bus lines traversing the community, and bus stops are not very far-removed from most homes.

Services

In Milliken Mills, parents and their kids will usually be able to access schools and daycares by walking. Apart from public schools, there are private elementary and high schools. With regards to eating, it is easy to access the closest supermarket by walking from anywhere in Milliken Mills. Likewise, this area is a fairly good place in which to go out to eat, and a small selection of coffee shops is available as well.

Character

Milliken Mills is a very good community to buy a house in for those who prefer a slower-paced ambience. This area is very quiet, as there isn't a lot of street noise or city clamour near Highway 407, Highway 404 or one of the railway lines. Lastly, parks are easy to access since there are approximately 10 of them nearby for residents to unwind in.

Around 80% of the population of this community own their home whereas the rest are renters. In this community, roughly half of buildings are single detached homes, while large apartment buildings and duplexes are the main alternatives in the housing stock. About one third of properties in this part of Markham were constructed following the year 2000, while many of the remaining buildings were built in the 1960s and the 1980s. This community has a good selection of housing size options, ranging from lofts to four or more bedrooms.
