The neighbourhood of Fairfield can be found in the city of Kitchener, Ontario, which is situated in the Kitchener - Cambridge - Waterloo metropolitan area.

Transportation

Fairfield is well-suited for those who travel by foot; running daily errands is easy by walking, and a variety of businesses are reasonably nearby. Bicycling is also convenient in Fairfield since there are few slopes to confront bicycle riders, and there are a good number of bike lanes. The favoured mode of transportation in this part of Kitchener is usually a car. It is a short car ride to the closest highway, such as Highway 85, from any home in Fairfield, and it is convenient to come across a place to park. On the other hand, Fairfield is not particularly transit friendly. Nevertheless, residents are served by a few bus lines, and the nearest bus stop is typically just around the corner.

Services

Parents and their kids will find that no matter where their property is located in Fairfield, both primary and secondary schools are nearby. In contrast, daycares are not especially numerous and thus not always within walking distance. In terms of food, some property owners in this neighbourhood may have the option to buy their groceries on foot, while others will need a vehicle. Most of the housing growth in Fairfield took place pre-1960. The proportions of renters and homeowners are about even. This part of Kitchener has a good selection of unit sizes, ranging from lofts to four or more bedrooms.
