Country Hills is a neighbourhood within Kitchener, Ontario, which is situated in the Kitchener - Cambridge - Waterloo metropolitan area.

Transportation

This area is a fairly pleasant part of Kitchener for pedestrians; carrying out day-to-day needs is easy. It is also easy to travel by bicycle in Country Hills since there are a fair number of bike lanes. This part of Kitchener is very car friendly. It is a rather short drive to the nearest highway from anywhere in Country Hills, and coming across a place to park is generally easy. However, residents using public transit may find limited choices in Country Hills as a result of the infrequent service. Thankfully, there are a few bus lines crossing the neighbourhood, and most homes are very close to a bus stop.

Services

The closest supermarket in Country Hills is usually only a reasonably short walk away. There are also a limited number of choices for those who care about nearby restaurants. With respect to education, it is a short walk to get to primary schools from anywhere in this part of Kitchener. However, Country Hills does not contain any high schools.

Character

Country Hills is a great neighbourhood to buy a home in for those who prefer a calm ambience. This part of the city is especially quiet overall, as there are generally low levels of noise from traffic. Lastly, there are a few green spaces nearby for residents to enjoy and they are very well-spread out, which results in them being very easy to reach from a large number of locations in Country Hills.

Housing

Single detached homes are the predominant housing type, representing around 40% of dwellings in Country Hills, but large apartment buildings and small apartment buildings are also present in the housing stock. Roughly half of properties in this neighbourhood were constructed between 1960 and 1980, while most of the remaining buildings were built in the 1980s and the 1990s.
