St. John's

The neighbourhood of St. John's can be found in the city of Hamilton, Ontario, which is situated in the Greater Hamilton metropolitan area.

Transportation

The car is usually the favoured method of transportation in this neighbourhood. The majority of properties for sale are a reasonably short drive from the closest highway, such as Highway 403, and coming across a place to park is generally easy. However, the public transit service in St. John's is not very frequent. Nevertheless, there are a few bus lines passing through the neighbourhood, and most homes are very close to a bus stop. Biking is convenient in St. John's. It is inconvenient for pedestrians to move around in St. John's since few common errands can be run without the use of a vehicle.

Services

It is a rather short walk to get to primary schools and daycares from anywhere in St. John's. However, it can be challenging to access high schools as a pedestrian. At the elementary level, there are both public and private schools. When it comes to food, it is rarely feasible for house buyers in this part of Hamilton to do their grocery shopping by walking. Nonetheless, pharmacies are typically easy to reach on foot and sell some staple foods. A small variety of restaurants is available in St. John's as well.

This part of Hamilton is reasonably quiet, as there tend to be low levels of noise from traffic - although that is not the case close to Lincoln M Alexander Parkway or Highway 403. Lastly, it is easy to reach public green spaces in the neighbourhood since there are a few of them nearby for residents to explore.

Housing

Around 40% of homes in St. John's were built between 1980 and 1990, while many of the remaining buildings were constructed pre-1960 and in the 1960s. In this part of the city, almost all dwellings are single detached homes, while the rest are mainly townhouses. Homeowners occupy nearly 95% of the units in the neighbourhood and 5% are rented. This neighbourhood is primarily composed of three bedroom and four or more bedroom homes.
