Lime Kiln

Lime Kiln is a neighbourhood within Hamilton, Ontario, which is located in the Greater Hamilton metropolitan area.

Transportation

Lime Kiln is an extraordinarily good part of Hamilton for travelling by car. It is especially convenient to come across a parking spot, and the majority of real estate listings are a short drive from the nearest highway, such as Highway 403. In contrast, Lime Kiln is not very transit friendly. Nevertheless, there are a few bus lines traversing the neighbourhood, and bus stops are not very far-removed from most houses. Many of the homes for sale in this part of the city are located in places that are not very suitable for walking since very few common errands can be run without the use of a vehicle. However, this part of Hamilton is bike-friendly.

Services

In all but a very small number of cases, a vehicle is needed to shop for groceries. With regards to education, primary schools are easy to access on foot from most houses for sale in Lime Kiln. However, there are no high schools in this part of the city.

Character

Lime Kiln is a wonderful neighbourhood to buy a house in for those who prefer a calm environment. This area is great for those who like a quiet atmosphere, as there isn't a lot of street noise or city clamour. Lastly, green spaces are very well-spread out and there are a few of them close by for residents to visit, which makes them easy to access.

Housing

Roughly 30% of homes in Lime Kiln were constructed pre-1960, while many of the remaining buildings were built in the 1960s and the 1980s. The housing stock of this neighbourhood is composed primarily of single detached homes and townhouses. Homeowners occupy nearly all of the units in the neighbourhood whereas the rest are rented. This part of the city offers mainly three bedroom and four or more bedroom homes.
