The neighbourhood of St. Lawrence is part of the city of Toronto, Ontario, which is located in the Greater Toronto Area metropolitan area.

Transportation

St. Lawrence is a great neighbourhood for car-free transportation options. Owing to 3 rapid transit stations (King Station - Southbound Platform, Queen Station - Southbound Platform and King Station - Northbound Platform) with access to the Line 1 (Yonge-University), and around 10 nearby bus lines, the public transit service in this part of Toronto is great. Travelling on foot is also especially feasible for residents in St. Lawrence; most day-to-day needs are very convenient to meet without the use of a car, and various businesses are very close by. Physically active house buyers will be pleased with the very bike-friendly nature of this neighbourhood. For example, there are a limited number of slopes, St. Lawrence has a fairly good cycling infrastructure, and a bike share station can generally be found nearby.

Services

House buyers in St. Lawrence will welcome that a general and a specialty grocery store is always only a very short walk away. Front Street is among the best streets for groceries. Moreover, with over 50 restaurants and about 10 coffee shops, St. Lawrence is an excellent place in which to eat out. With respect to education, in St. Lawrence, parents and their children will almost always be able to reach daycares and schools by walking. Residents have the choice between public and private primary schools.

Character

St. Lawrence is a great neighbourhood for those who enjoy both indoor and outdoor activities. There are a very large number of bustling parts in this neighbourhood to discover. A vast selection of entertainment venues can be found nearby, there are often crowds of people around, and places to go out at night are well-spread throughout the area. Main streets, such as Wellington Street, are very good for those who like going out. Greenery is not very prominent in this area; although, green spaces are especially well-spread out and there are approximately 10 of them close by for residents to unwind in, which makes it very easy to access them.

Housing

Renters occupy around two thirds of the properties in the neighbourhood and one third are occupied by owners. The substantial percentage of large apartment buildings in the housing stock of this part of the city is an important part of its character. About 40% of properties in this neighbourhood were constructed following the year 2000, while the majority of the remaining buildings were constructed in the 1960s and the 1980s. There is a higher proportion of one bedroom homes in this part of Toronto.
