Countless people in the area use their bicycle since there is generally a bike-share station close by, and there are a fair number of bike lanes. The great public transit infrastructure makes transit a viable option for many people due to plenty of nearby rapid transit stations with access to the Line 2 (Bloor - Danforth), and around 10 nearby bus lines. However, cars are a somewhat poor means of transportation in Dovercourt Village since it is challenging to access a parking spot, and the majority of homes for sale are a very long car ride from the nearest highway.

Even though there is a limited selection of entertainment venues, there are a very large number of people around most of the time, and finding one of the a few bars is very easy because they are generally situated in very convenient locations. Dovercourt Village is reasonably quiet, as noise from the streets and other parts of the city is rarely an issue. The greenery in this part of Toronto is prominent; green spaces, including Christie Pits Park, are especially well-situated and there are around 10 of them close by for residents to relax in, which makes them very easy to reach.
