Ridgeway

Ridgeway is a neighbourhood within Fort Erie, Ontario, which is situated in the St. Catharines - Niagara metropolitan area.

Transportation

Ridgeway is a very good part of Fort Erie for driving. It is especially convenient to park. Even though there are a limited number of elevation changes to challenge cyclists, Ridgeway is not particularly cycling-friendly as the bicycling network is not very well-developed. Most homes for sale in this part of the town are located in places that are also not very convenient for those who travel by foot as very few daily needs can be met by walking.

Services

Getting to the nearest supermarket on foot is feasible for some, but not all, property owners in this neighbourhood. A small selection of restaurants can be found in Ridgeway as well. As far as education is concerned, there are only a limited number of primary schools in this neighbourhood and therefore they can be a long walk away. Moreover, Ridgeway does not contain any high schools. In addition, there are only a few daycares and accordingly they can be an extended walk away.

Character

The character of Ridgeway is exemplified by its slower-paced ambience. Ridgeway is very quiet, as noise from the streets and other parts of the city is rarely an issue.

Housing

The predominant housing types in Ridgeway are single detached homes and row houses. About one third of properties in this neighbourhood were constructed pre-1960, while most of the remaining buildings were built in the 1960s and the 1990s. This part of the town is primarily composed of two bedroom and three bedroom homes. Roughly 90% of the population of this neighbourhood own their home while renters make up the remainder.
