Transportation

The favoured approach to move around in this part of Cambridge is very often a car. Finding a parking spot is quite easy. On the other hand, getting around by public transit is very difficult in Royal Oak. Nonetheless, house owners are served by a few bus lines, and most residences are near a bus stop. Royal Oak is bicycling-friendly. Walking is not very convenient for home buyers in this part of Cambridge as running common errands is inconvenient on foot.

Services

There are no high schools and no primary schools in this neighbourhood. Additionally, there are only a very small number of daycares and thus they can be a very long walk away. Regarding food, in all cases, a car is required to shop for groceries.

Character

Royal Oak is a good neighbourhood to buy a home in for those who prefer a relaxed atmosphere. This area is quiet overall, as there isn't a lot of street noise or city clamour - although that is not the case around Highway 401 or the railway line. Finally, although Royal Oak is not home to any parks, green spaces are very well-distributed in nearby neighbourhoods, which makes them easy to access.
