Employment

Part of the Greater Hamilton metropolitan area, Employment is a neighbourhood within Burlington, Ontario.

Transportation

Employment is an extraordinarily convenient part of Burlington for travelling by car. Most properties for sale are a short drive from the nearest highway, such as Queen Elizabeth Way, and coming across a place to park is easy. In contrast, the public transit system in this part of the city is not especially practical. Nonetheless, residents profit from the Appleby with access to the Lakeshore West. The neighbourhood is linked by about 10 bus lines, and bus stops are commonly nearby. Travelling by bicycle is convenient in Employment. In contrast, there are relatively few pedestrians out on the streets of Employment, even though meeting daily needs is easy by walking.

Services

Getting to the nearest supermarket on foot is feasible for some, but not all, home buyers in Employment. That being said, a coffee shop is generally a rather short stroll away, and there are also a limited number of opportunities for those who appreciate restaurants in close proximity. In terms of education, families will welcome that wherever their house is situated in Employment, primary schools and daycares are nearby. On the other hand, it can be difficult to walk to high schools from homes for sale in this part of the city. At the secondary level, both public and private schools can be found.

Character

There are a lot of green spaces to enjoy in Employment. There are a few parks nearby for residents to explore and they are very well-situated, which makes them easy to get to. Due to the presence of few people out and about on the streets, this part of Burlington remains relatively quiet, although those who are near Queen Elizabeth Way or the railway line may experience higher levels of noise.

Housing

Single detached homes are the most common housing type, representing roughly 30% of dwellings in Employment, and the rest are mainly large apartment buildings and townhouses. This part of the city has a good variety of housing sizes, ranging from lofts to four or more bedrooms. About 85% of the dwellings in the neighbourhood are occupied by homeowners and renters occupy the remainder. Roughly 40% of properties in this neighbourhood were built following the year 2000, while most of the remaining buildings were constructed in the 1960s and the 1990s.
