Part of the Greater Toronto Area metropolitan area, Madoc is a neighbourhood within Brampton, Ontario.

Transportation

No matter the mode of transportation, it is quite simple to move around in Madoc. The fairly good public transit access allows people to get to many destinations without needing a vehicle. For example, there are a few bus lines passing through the neighbourhood, and bus stops are not very far-removed from most residences. Madoc will also attract physically active people since it is convenient for walking; carrying out daily needs is easy, and a variety of businesses are reasonably nearby. Madoc is quite suited for biking.

Services

Families will find that wherever their house is situated in Madoc, schools and daycares are close by. Apart from public schools, there are private elementary and high schools. With respect to eating, it is very easy to access the closest supermarket by walking from any home in Madoc. Moreover, a restaurant is commonly just around the corner, and there are also a few cafes in this area.

Character

The character of Madoc is exemplified by its slower-paced atmosphere. Accessing parks, such as Century Gardens, is very easy from a large number of locations within the neighbourhood since there are around 10 of them close by for residents to unwind in. This part of the city is also good for those who enjoy a quiet atmosphere, as the streets are usually quite peaceful - however noise can be problematic closer to Highway 410.

Housing

In Madoc, around 30% of buildings are townhouses, but small apartment buildings and single detached homes are also present in the housing stock. This part of the city is primarily composed of four or more bedroom and three bedroom homes. Around three quarters of the units in the neighbourhood are occupied by homeowners while the rest are rented. Most of the housing growth in this neighbourhood took place in the 1960s and 1970s.
