Windsor Junction

Part of the Greater Halifax metropolitan area, Windsor Junction is a community within Halifax, Nova Scotia.

Transportation

Windsor Junction is an extremely good part of Halifax for getting around by car. Accessing a parking spot is generally easy. It is very difficult for pedestrians to get around in this part of Halifax as almost no daily needs can be met on foot. Windsor Junction is also not very conducive to biking as there are a fair number of slopes to challenge cyclists, and the cycling infrastructure is not very well-developed.

Services

Windsor Junction does not have any high schools or primary schools. In addition, there are only a very small number of daycares and thus they can be a very long walk away. When it comes to food, house buyers in Windsor Junction almost always have to turn to a vehicle to reach the closest supermarket.

Character

The character of Windsor Junction is exemplified by its slower-paced ambience. Windsor Junction is very quiet overall, as noise from streets and other parts of the city is rarely an issue. Public green spaces aren't well-situated, which makes them sometimes difficult to access. Still, there are a few parks close by for residents to unwind in.

Housing

In Windsor Junction, almost all dwellings are single detached homes, while the remainder are mainly townhouses. The buildings in this area are very modern, because roughly one third of its dwellings were built following the year 2000, while many of the remaining buildings were constructed in the 1960s and the 1980s. However this community is especially good for those looking for four or more bedroom homes. Roughly all of the dwellings in the community are occupied by homeowners whereas the rest are rented.
