Situated in the Greater Halifax metropolitan area, Pleasant Point is a community within Halifax, Nova Scotia.
Transportation
Cars are an excellent medium of transportation in Pleasant Point. Parking is easy. Pleasant Point is not very suitable for those who travel by foot as most daily needs are nearly impossible to carry out by walking. Moving around by bicycle is also challenging in this part of Halifax as there are very few bike lanes, and there is a significant amount of slopes.
Services
This community does not have any high schools or primary schools. In terms of eating, in all but a very small number of cases, a car is required to purchase groceries.
Character
Pleasant Point offers a relaxed atmosphere. Pleasant Point is very quiet, as there isn't a lot of street noise or city clamour. Parks aren't well-spread out, making it very difficult to get to them.
Housing
The predominance of single detached homes in the housing stock of Pleasant Point is an important part of its character. This area is primarily composed of two bedroom and three bedroom homes. Roughly 95% of the units in the community are occupied by homeowners and the rest are rented. Around one quarter of properties in this part of the municipality were built in the 1960s and 1970s, while the majority of the remaining buildings were built pre-1960 and in the 1980s.
