Transportation

The best transportation option in Oakmount is very often a car. Nearby highways are especially easy to drive to from any location in this part of Halifax, and it is very convenient to park. On the other hand, residents using public transit may have few options in Oakmount as a result of the infrequent service. Nonetheless, there are a few bus lines passing through the neighbourhood, and bus stops are usually nearby. Walking is not especially practical for residents in Oakmount since few common errands can be run on foot. Oakmount is also not very amenable to cycling because there are few bike lanes, and there are a fair number of elevation changes for cyclists to brave.
