Transportation

Oakfield is an extraordinarily convenient part of Halifax for driving. Parking is easy. Oakfield is not very well-suited for walking because almost no common errands can be run on foot. This part of the municipality is also not very cycling-friendly as the bicycling infrastructure is quite bad, and there are a good number of slopes.

Services

Character

Parks are distributed sporadically, making it very difficult to reach them. Still, there are a few green spaces nearby for residents to relax in, like Oakfield Provincial Park.

Housing

Nearly 90% of the units in the community are occupied by homeowners whereas renters occupy the remainder. Single detached homes and row houses are the predominant housing type in this part of the municipality. About 40% of properties in this area were constructed following the year 2000, while most of the remaining buildings were built pre-1960 and in the 1960s. This community offers mainly four or more bedroom and three bedroom homes.
