East Preston

The community of East Preston can be found in the municipality of Halifax, Nova Scotia, which is located in the Greater Halifax metropolitan area.

Transportation

East Preston is very car friendly. Nearby highways are reasonably easy to access from anywhere in this part of Halifax, and it is very convenient to come across a parking spot. This area is not very bike-friendly since there are a fair number of slopes to challenge cyclists, and the bicycling network is quite poor. This area is also not very well-suited for walking as almost no common errands can be run without the use of a vehicle.

Services

In all cases, a vehicle is needed to purchase groceries. With respect to education, it is a rather short walk to reach daycares from anywhere in this part of Halifax. On the other hand, there are only a few primary schools in this area and consequently they can be a rather long walk away. Moreover, this part of Halifax does not have any high schools.

Character

East Preston offers a relaxed environment and will appeal to home buyers who enjoy spending time outdoors. The noise levels in this area are reasonably low, as the streets tend to be quite peaceful. Lastly, parks are easy to reach since there are a few of them nearby for residents to explore.

Single detached homes and townhouses are the main housing type in East Preston.
