Burnside Business Park is a neighbourhood within Halifax, Nova Scotia, which is situated in the Greater Halifax metropolitan area.

Transportation

Cars are a great means of transportation in Burnside Business Park. Parking is quite easy, and most properties for sale are a very short drive from the nearest highway. On the other hand, this area is not very transit friendly. Nonetheless, there are a few bus lines, and the nearest bus stop is generally very close. This neighbourhood is not particularly amenable to cycling because the bicycling infrastructure is fairly poor, and bicycling is made strenuous by the typically steep area. A majority of the houses for sale in this part of Halifax are located in areas that are also not very suitable for walking as many daily needs are sometimes challenging to meet without the use of a car.

Services

Daycares and primary schools are easy to reach on foot from any location in Burnside Business Park. However, it can be difficult to walk to high schools from homes for sale in this neighbourhood. With regards to food, it is very rarely feasible for home buyers in this part of the municipality to do grocery shopping by walking. Additionally, it is easy to reach the closest coffee shop on foot, and there are also approximately 20 restaurants in Burnside Business Park.

Character

There are a lot of green spaces to enjoy in Burnside Business Park. A large number of locations within the neighbourhood have fairly good access to public green spaces, such as Spectacle Lake Park and Don Bayer Park, since there are a few of them close by for residents to check out. Finally, due to the presence of very few pedestrians, this area is relatively calm.

Housing

In Burnside Business Park, many dwellings are small apartment buildings, while the remainder are mainly single detached homes. About one quarter of homes in this neighbourhood were constructed between 1990 and 2000, while most of the remaining buildings were built pre-1960 and in the 1960s. This part of the municipality is primarily composed of three bedroom and two bedroom homes. Around 80% of the units in the neighbourhood are occupied by renters whereas owners occupy the remainder.
