Antrim

Located in the Greater Halifax metropolitan area, Antrim is a community within Halifax, Nova Scotia.

Transportation

Antrim is an extraordinarily convenient part of Halifax for moving around by car. Coming across a place to park is generally easy. Antrim is not very bicycling-friendly because there are very few bike lanes, and there are a fair number of slopes to challenge cyclists. Travelling on foot is also not very practical for home buyers in this area because almost no common errands can be run on foot.

Services

In all but a very small number of cases, a car is needed in Antrim to access the nearest supermarket. In terms of education, there are no high schools and no primary schools in this community.

Character

Antrim offers a relaxed environment. Antrim is very quiet, as noise from streets and other parts of the city is rarely an issue. Public green spaces aren't well-located, making it very difficult to reach them.

Housing

About 20% of homes in Antrim were constructed after the year 2000, while the majority of the remaining buildings were built pre-1960 and in the 1960s. Single detached homes and townhouses are the predominant housing type in this area. Roughly 95% of the properties in the community are occupied by homeowners whereas renters occupy the remainder. This community is primarily composed of two bedroom and three bedroom homes.
