Transportation

Cars are an excellent transportation option in this community. It is very convenient to come across a parking spot. The bike is a rather limited means of transportation in this area since there are a fair number of elevation changes for cyclists to brave, and the cycling network is quite poor. A majority of the homes for sale in this part of Cape Breton Municipality are located in places that are also not very convenient for walking as many daily needs are very inconvenient to meet without the use of a car.

Services

In all cases, a vehicle is required to buy groceries. With respect to education, primary schools are convenient to reach on foot from anywhere in this community. However, Howie Centre does not have any high schools.
