Castle Bay

The community of Castle Bay can be found in the municipality of Cape Breton Municipality, Nova Scotia, which is located in the Cape Breton metropolitan area.

Transportation

This community is very car friendly. It is very convenient to park. A majority of the homes for sale in this part of Cape Breton Municipality are located in places that are not very conducive to walking because almost no daily needs can be met by walking. This area is also not very cycling-friendly because there are very few bike lanes, and there are a good number of slopes.

Services

There are no high schools and no primary schools in this community. Regarding eating, a vehicle is almost always needed in Castle Bay to access the closest supermarket.

Character

Castle Bay is a very good community to buy a home in for those who prefer a relaxed atmosphere. This part of the municipality is very quiet, as there isn't a lot of street noise or city clamour. Lastly, although Castle Bay is not home to any parks, parks are situated sporadically in nearby communities, making it very easy to access them.

Housing

Single detached homes are the predominant housing type, representing almost all dwellings in Castle Bay, while the remainder are mainly mobile homes. Roughly one third of properties in this part of the municipality were built pre-1960, while many of the remaining buildings were constructed in the 1960s and the 1990s. This community offers mainly four or more bedroom and three bedroom homes. Roughly all of the population of this community own their home and the rest are renters.
