Lesters

Lesters is a neighbourhood within St. John's, Newfoundland and Labrador, which is located in the Greater St. John's metropolitan area.

Transportation

Lesters is very car friendly. Most houses for sale are a rather short drive from the nearest highway, and accessing a place to park is quite easy. On the other hand, the public transit service in Lesters is not very frequent. This part of St. John's is not very suitable for those who travel by foot as meeting daily needs is inconvenient by walking. Lesters is also not particularly bike-friendly because there are very few bike lanes, and the terrain is not especially flat.

Services

This area does not have any high schools or primary schools. Additionally, daycares are not very abundant and accordingly not always within walking distance. In terms of food, in all but a very small number of cases, a vehicle is needed in Lesters to access the closest grocery store.

Character

Lesters is a neighbourhood to buy a home in for those who prefer a laid-back environment. Lesters is relatively serene, due to the presence of very few people out and about on the streets.

Housing

The substantial proportion of single detached homes in the housing stock of Lesters is an important part of its character. Around one third of properties in this part of the city were built between 1960 and 1980, while most of the remaining buildings were built in the 1980s and the 2000s. This area offers mainly four or more bedroom and three bedroom homes. Roughly 80% of the population of this neighbourhood own their home while renters make up the remainder.
