Mun

Part of the Greater St. John's metropolitan area, Mun is a neighbourhood within St. John's, Newfoundland and Labrador.

Transportation

Mun will appeal to active home buyers as it is conducive to those who travel by foot; most daily needs are easy to carry out without the use of a car, and a good number of businesses of different types can be found as well. Bicycling is also easy in this neighbourhood as there are a fair number of bike lanes. Public transit users may experience limited choices in Mun as a result of the infrequent service. Thankfully, the neighbourhood is served by around 10 bus lines, and most homes are very close to a bus stop. On the other hand, Mun is an extraordinarily convenient part of St. John's for getting around by car. Parking is generally easy, and nearby highways are especially easy to reach from any location in this area.

Services

Parents and their kids will welcome the proximity to both primary and secondary schools, which are within walking distance from most homes for sale in Mun. However, parents may consider it challenging for their children to get to daycares on foot. Concerning food, accessing the closest grocery store by walking is possible for some, but not all, house buyers in this neighbourhood. Conversely, a cafe is typically a reasonably short stroll away, and a small number of restaurants can be found in Mun as well.

Character

Home buyers who prefer a calm environment will enjoy Mun. Mun is reasonably quiet overall, as there isn't a lot of street noise or city clamour.

Housing

Homeowners occupy about 55% of the properties in the neighbourhood and renters occupy the remainder. Single detached homes are the predominant housing type, representing around half of buildings in this area, and the remaining dwellings are mainly duplexes. Most of the housing growth in this neighbourhood occurred pre-1960. This part of St. John's offers mainly four or more bedroom and three bedroom homes.
