Regent

Part of the Greater Winnipeg metropolitan area, Regent is a neighbourhood within Winnipeg, Manitoba.

Transportation

Regent will attract active house buyers because it is well-suited for those who travel by foot; many daily needs can be met without the use of a car. Although bicycling is facilitated by the generally flat terrain, Regent is not particularly appropriate for biking since the cycling infrastructure is not particularly extensive. The preferred approach to move around in this area is very often driving. Coming across a place to park is easy, and most of the street network is appropriate for driving. On the other hand, the public transit service in Regent is somewhat poor. Nonetheless, the neighbourhood is connected by approximately 10 bus lines, and it is especially convenient to reach a nearby bus stop from most houses.

Services

A supermarket is typically reachable within a reasonably short walk from anywhere in Regent. In addition, there are a fair number of opportunities for those who care about nearby restaurants and cafes. Regarding education, families will welcome that no matter where their house is situated in Regent, schools and daycares are close by.

Character

Regent offers a wide variety of green spaces to enjoy, despite its sometimes busy feel. Public green spaces, like Rotary Prairie Nature Park, are especially well-spread out and there are a few of them nearby for residents to discover, which makes it easy to get to them. Lastly, this area remains relatively quiet, as there are few pedestrians, although there can be more noise for those who are closer to the railway line.

Housing

In Regent, around half of buildings are single detached homes, while small apartment buildings and townhouses are also present in the housing stock. This area experienced its most significant construction boom following the year 2000, so most of the available homes are from this era. This neighbourhood also has a good choice of housing sizes; it is quite easy to find properties ranging from lofts to four or more bedrooms. Roughly two thirds of the population of this neighbourhood own their home and one third are renters.
