The neighbourhood of Meadowood can be found in the city of Winnipeg, Manitoba, which is situated in the Greater Winnipeg metropolitan area.

Transportation

It is convenient to travel by bike in Meadowood as the cycling infrastructure is reasonably good, and there are a limited number of slopes. This part of Winnipeg is also reasonably well-suited for walking; carrying out daily needs is convenient. Driving is a very good transportation option in this neighbourhood. It is a very short car ride to the nearest highway from anywhere in this part of Winnipeg, and it is easy to park. On the other hand, getting around by transit can be challenging in Meadowood as a result of the infrequent service. Thankfully, the neighbourhood is served by a few bus lines, and most residences are very close to a bus stop.

Services

The nearest supermarket in this area is usually only a short walk away. Additionally, house buyers won't have to look far to take advantage of the closest coffee shop, and residents of Meadowood benefit from a few restaurants as well. With respect to education, parents and their schoolchildren will value the proximity to primary schools and daycares, which are within walking distance from most, if not all, properties for sale in Meadowood. However, there are no high schools in Meadowood. At the primary level, there are both public and private schools.

Character

Meadowood offers a relaxed environment and will appeal to home buyers who enjoy spending time outdoors. Green spaces, like Riel Park and Brentford Park, are very well-spread out and there are approximately 10 of them close by for residents to explore, making it very easy to get to them. This neighbourhood is also especially quiet, as there isn't a lot of street noise or city clamour.

Housing

About two thirds of the properties in the neighbourhood are occupied by homeowners and one third are rented. In this area, roughly half of dwellings are single detached homes, while small apartment buildings are also present in the housing stock. This area experienced its biggest construction boom in the 1960s and 1970s, so most of the available properties are from this time period. This neighbourhood has a good variety of housing sizes, ranging from lofts to four or more bedrooms.
