Glendale

The neighbourhood of Glendale can be found in the city of Winnipeg, Manitoba, which is situated in the Greater Winnipeg metropolitan area.

Transportation

Driving is an excellent medium of transportation in Glendale. It is very convenient to find a parking spot, and the majority of homes for sale are a very short drive from the closest highway, such as Perimeter 100 Highway. However, the public transit service in Glendale is fairly poor. Thankfully, homeowners benefit from a few bus lines, and it is very convenient to get to a nearby bus stop from most properties. Despite the fact that there are a limited number of elevation changes, Glendale is not very suited for bicycling since the cycling infrastructure is not very extensive. It is also difficult for pedestrians to get around in this area because few daily errands can be run on foot.

Services

A supermarket is usually accessible within a reasonably short walk from any location in Glendale. Residents can enjoy a few restaurants and cafes as well. In terms of education, it is a short walk to reach primary schools and daycares from most houses for sale in this part of Winnipeg. On the other hand, Glendale does not have any high schools.

Character

There are a lot of green spaces to enjoy in Glendale. There are a few parks close by for residents to relax in, like St. Charles Grove, and they are especially well-distributed, resulting in them being easy to get to from numerous locations in the neighbourhood. As there are very few people out and about on the streets, this area remains relatively calm.

Housing

In Glendale, many dwellings are single detached homes, while small apartment buildings and mobile homes make up most of the remaining housing stock. Most housing in this area was built between 1960 and 1980, during its largest building boom. This part of the city offers mainly four or more bedroom and three bedroom homes. About 80% of the properties in the neighbourhood are occupied by homeowners whereas the rest are rented.
